Located on a plot area of 4,800 with a total built-up area of nearly 3,000 sq.m, the mosque adds a great urban character to the new Muharraq community.

It is not only a place for worship for 1,500 persons but also accommodates a majlis, classrooms, and a community centre operating during different times of a day.

The outstanding features of this mosque include Turkish style pencil minarets, domes and half domes with beautiful calligraphy of Quran verses adorning the interior, a forecourt and fountain surrounded by vaulted arcades, and Bahrain’s tallest mihrab indicating the direction of the Qibla. In addition, a separate retail strip with 8 outlets is also provided at the far end of the car park. The proceeds from this building are to be used for the upkeep of the mosque, ensuring that it is self-funded and sustainable.

The mosque is an architectural masterpiece representing the achievements of the late Rashid Abdulrahman Al Zayani.
